Player of the Week: Riley Stadt

Riley Stadt is the Juneau Empire’s Player of the Week.

Stadt, a senior at Juneau-Douglas High School, led the Crimson Bears with 22 digs and five aces in a 3-2 volleyball victory over Thunder Mountain on Saturday night. JDHS trailed 14-13 in the fifth set, and after tying the game up at 14-14, Stadt served the go-ahead and match point. It was the first JDHS win over TMHS of the season.

The crosstown rivals will square off once again for Region V bragging rights. The Region V 3A/4A Volleyball Tournament begins when JDHS takes on Ketchikan at 4 p.m. Friday at JDHS. The winner of that game will play Thunder Mountain at 8 p.m. The Class 4A championship game is 4 p.m. Saturday.
