Player of the Week: Alwen Carrillo

He helped Floyd Dryden claim the Icebreaker championship.

Alwen Carrillo is the Juneau Empire’s player of the week.

Carrillo, an eighth-grader at Floyd Dryden Middle School, was the Eagles’ second-leading scorer at the Icebreaker Tournament last weekend. Carrillo averaged 11 points in wins Friday and Saturday over Blatchley, Schoenbar and Dzantik’i Heeni middle schools.

Floyd Dryden claimed the Boys A championship by defeating Schoenbar 52-30 on their home floor Saturday, finishing the season at 14-0.
