Stay strong, Sen. Murkowski

Alaskans aren’t known for choosing the easy road.

We wouldn’t live here if the goal was to go through life on the path with the fewest obstacles.

U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has embodied this by standing up to her Republican colleagues and doing what she campaigned on — protecting the interests of Alaskans. Thank you, Murkowski for showing the whole country what it means to be an Alaskan — to do the right thing even when it’s hard.

I’m proud to come from a state where people look out for each other and work together to build a stronger future.

Murkowski is an excellent role model for young Alaskans and young women, demonstrating what a strong, female leader who stands by her convictions can achieve. I applaud her for publicly standing with Planned Parenthood and refusing to give in to the Senate leadership who want to harm our state.

Stay strong, Lisa.
