Police and Fire for Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016

Burglary

• At 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, JPD received a report of a burglary in the 8200 block of Birch Lane. Investigation continues.

Conditions violation

• At 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, JPD arrested a 30-year-old man in the Mendenhall Valley on two counts of violating a domestic violence protective order.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, JPD cited Joseph Hosey, 42, for failure to maintain a safe distance after he rear-ended a Jeep, totaling the vehicle and sending its driver to Bartlett Regional Hospital. Icy roads were a factor in the collision.

Shoplifting

• At 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, JPD cited Jeremiah Houston, 30, for shoplifting $120 worth of tools. Police released Houston.

Theft

• At 2:08 p.m. Tuesday, JPD received a report of a possible theft in the 8300 block of Nugget Drive. Investigation continues.

• At 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, JPD received a report of a stolen computer. A 20-year-old man reported that his laptop had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle.

Trespassing

• At 7:17 p.m. Tuesday, JPD received a report of criminal trespass. Investigation continues.

Vandalism

• At 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, JPD received a report of vehicle vandalism in the 1700 block of Anka Street. Investigation continues.

Vehicle rifling

• Just after noon on Tuesday, JPD responded to a report of vehicle rifling in the 2500 block of Sunset Drive. A 69-year-old man told police that a gym bag with $90 worth of clothing had been stolen along with a pair of binoculars, valued at $200.
