Opinion: People should still support South Franklin businesses

I would like to urge people not to forget lower South Franklin when they want to support local businesses. My neighborhood may look deserted without the ships, but five locally-owned shops are open. Just south of the Red Dog, The Red Lady and Brilliant Knits are open. Further south, the House of Russia, Trove and the Shirt Shop are open. I live in the neighborhood so am worried that almost no one walks down our street. They are all great shops where one can find wonderful gifts. My house is full of beautiful decorations from the House of Russia. I just went into the Red Lady and saw wild and unique jewelry I would love to have. The hours of the shops may be shorter than normal. At least I know the House of Russia is open noon-4 p.m. weekdays and Saturday and noon-3 p.m. Sunday. Please help support our local business owners so hurt by the pandemic!
