Opinion: Alaska should have license plates honoring fallen officers

As a recently retired Anchorage Police Officer I am asking for your help in passing HB-201. This bill would honor police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. HB-201 would enable the creation and issuance of license plates commemorating these police officers. Every day, those that have sworn to protect us put themselves in harm’s way to preserve the peace and protect their fellow citizens. There are multiple other states with license plates that honor fallen officers, it’s time that Alaska does the same. In my 25 years of service I truly felt the support that our great state has for law enforcement. I thank you and ask you to email the following representatives supporting HB-201: housestate.affairs@akleg.gov (Attention: Committee Chair, Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins) and rep.james.kaufman@akleg.gov (Attention: Representative, James Kaufman)

Doug Fifer,

Anchorage
