Letter: Thanks for support during election

Save Juneau would like to thank the Juneau electorate for supporting and tuning in to Save Juneau during the local election.

A primary reason Save Juneau became involved in the 2023 election season was to protect Juneau from an ill-timed 25-year bond for a new City Hall, which voters rejected. Our focus was and continues to be keeping Juneau affordable.

In the crowded Areawide and two district races our candidates ran spirited campaigns, attracted a great deal of support, and gave voters a clear choice to reject the status quo.

The Save Juneau team enjoyed meeting so many sincere and wonderful people as we walked the Juneau valley neighborhoods. We also attended or tuned in to Assembly meetings (and will continue to do that) and spent many hours observing the vote-by-mail election counting process at the Thane vote center. More on that later.

We hope you will tune into our YouTube channel “Do You Know Juneau” and our social media sites on Facebook. That’s where Save Juneau will stay engaged with the community to help keep you informed.
