Will Coleman passed John Bursell on the last leg to win the Long Course at the Aukeman Triathlon on Sunday, Aug. 3, in Juneau.
Emily Hertberg won the Long Course for the women, while Steve Garger and Alisha Falberg won the Olympic Course and Mitchell Schumacher and Sydney Hughes won the Sprint Course.
Bursell finished the 1.2-mile swim in 36 minutes, 58 seconds, to the 42:09 of Coleman.
On the 56-mile bike, Bursell had a time of 2:36:39, while Coleman was at 2:32:23, to keep Bursell just ahead.
On the 13.1-mile run, Coleman did a 1:34:17 to the 1:41:00 of Bursell. Coleman won the Ironman half distance in 4:56:07, while Bursell was at 5:00:36.
Hertberg’s time was not available, while Team Secon won the Long Course relay at 5:31:00.
The Olympic Course is a .9-mile swim, 24-mile bike and 6.2-mile run.
Garger finished at 2:54:54 for the win, while Falberg was at 3:01:27.
Team Dimond Park Divas took the Olympic relay at 2:47:11.
The Sprint Course is a .47-mile swim, 12-mile bike and 3.1-mile run.
Schumacher finished at 1:17:31 for first, while Hughes was clocked at 1:22:56.
Team Tri-Ing Times took the relay at 1:31:30.
