Aylward, Gress capture Juneau Marathon

William Aylward and Shannon Gress won the marathon, while Jack McManus and Joanna Hinderberger won the half marathon, Saturday, July 26, at the Juneau Marathon and Half Marathon in Juneau.

Aylward covered the course in 2 hours, 37 minutes, 20 seconds, to get the better of runner-up John Wright, who finished at 3:03:56.

Gress ran 26.2 miles in 3:03:35, with Olivia Glasscock the runner-up at 3:29:32.

In the half marathon, McManus also had a comfortable margin, running 1:13:57 to the 1:17:41 of runner-up Chase Hall.

Hinderberger had the closest win of the day, running 1:26:29 to get the better of Hilary Young and her 1:28:36.
