ANCHORAGE — A search is underway for a 22-year-old man missing on a trip between two western Alaska villages.
Alaska State Troopers in Nome say Roger Hannon of Koyuk was traveling by snowmobile in a blizzard Thursday from Elim to Koyuk with another person when they became separated.
Troopers say visibility was poor in the blowing snow.
Hannon was last seen on sea ice east of Elim.
Searchers from Koyuk and Elim unsuccessfully looked for Hannon on Thursday.
The search Friday was on hold because of poor weather.
Koyuk is 90 miles northeast of Nome.
