The Juneau Police Department is searching for missing man Christopher Edward Orcutt, 22, who was last seen Aug. 25 in the downtown area.

Police search for missing man, last seen leaving downtown party

Police are asking the community for any information about a 22-year-old man who hasn’t been seen by friends or relatives for nearly two weeks.

Christopher Edward Orcutt, 22, was last seen the night of Aug. 25 leaving a party at an apartment over a downtown store, according to the Juneau Police Department. Orcutt, who is also homeless, left the party intoxicated and forgot several of his clothing layers and his cell phone.

Almost a week later, the host of the party told police Orcutt had not returned for his belongings, which promoted her to call for help.

As part of JPD’s investigation, police have check the campground on Thane Road where Orcutt told friends he often stayed, but he is not registered at the campground and other campers in the area did not report knowing him, according to a JPD press release.

Police said Orcutt is known to go months without contacting his family, but he had established habits since moving to Juneau this past year that included going to the Glory Hole Shelter and Soup Kitchen or to Foodland IGA for his meals. A JPD representative could not be reached to find out where Orcutt is originally from.

He has not been seen at either of those places since Aug. 25.

A relative who keeps most of Orcutt’s belongings stored in his downtown home also told police Orcutt has not stopped by since he was seen leaving the party.

Police have confirmed that Orcutt did not take a ferry out of town and airlines checks are ongoing, but it appears from an initial search that he did not fly out of the area.

Anyone with information about Orcutt’s whereabouts is encouraged to call JPD at 586-0600.
