Police & Fire for Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015

Assault

• At 7:07 p.m. Friday, a 46-year-old man reported he was assaulted by a 50-year-old man in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue. Alcohol was involved.

Criminal trespass

• At 10:41 a.m. Sunday, a 32-year-old woman reported a possible criminal trespass at her residence in the 2200 block of Raven Road. Information only.

Domestic violence

• At 1:55 p.m. Saturday, a 62-year-old woman was arrested on domestic violence assault charges, and she was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Drug activity

• At 10:34 a.m. Saturday, the Juneau Police Department responded to the Prospector Hotel in the 300 block of Whittier Street to investigate drug paraphernalia, a shotgun, and various other items left inside a room.

• At 10:08 a.m. Sunday, JPD assisted another agency with an investigation into possible drug use in the 3000 block of Fritz Cove Road.

Fire and medical

• On Thursday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to five EMS calls and a fire alarm on Hospital Drive. The fire alarm was a planned test, but someone had called the fire department under the impression it was a real alarm activation.

• On Friday, CCFR responded to three EMS calls.

• On Saturday, CCFR responded to seven EMS calls, a two-vehicle accident on Glacier Highway where a woman was provided basic life support and taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital, and a burn complaint on Trafalgar Street.

• On Sunday, CCFR responded to a possible fire on Glacier Highway at 12:49 a.m. Upon arrival, CCFR found a melted extension cord that was being used to light an outside parking area. CCFR removed the cord from the power supply. There was damage to the extension cord and charring to the support beam. Throughout the day, CCFR also responded to four EMS calls, a report of smoke coming from a boat condo on Harbor Way but no sign of smoke was found, and a vehicle accident on Egan Drive at about 5:30 p.m. The car passengers were able to exit the vehicle on their own, and one man was given basic life support care and taken to BRH.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 1:59 p.m. Friday, Lillian Marvin, 18, was cited for failure to yield when turning left and driving without a license following a damage-only crash in the 3500 block of Mendenhall Loop Road. Her vehicle was impounded.

• At 11:48 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 5800 block of Glacier Highway. Minor injuries were reported. Investigation continues.

• At 1 p.m. Saturday, Kalani Kersbergen, 25, was cited for driving without a valid license after the car he was driving slid into a ditch in the 8800 block of Egan Drive. His vehicle was impounded.

• At 4:04 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 2800 block of Riverside Drive. Damage only, no injuries.

Suspicious activity

• At 2:40 p.m. Saturday, JPD received a report of two men siphoning gas from a vehicle in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road. JPD contacted 53-year-old John Kobb and arrested him on an outstanding $250 warrant on the original charge of driving without a valid driver’s license. He was also cited for driving without proof of insurance. JPD took him to LCCC and impounded his vehicle. Investigation into the siphoning of gas continues.

Vehicle rifling

• At 10:52 a.m. Saturday, JPD received a report of a vehicle rifling in the 400 block of Harris Street. Property was reported stolen. Investigation continues.

• At 10:38 a.m. Sunday, JPD received a report of a vehicle rifling in the 2000 block of Glacier Highway. Property valued around $150 was reported stolen.

Vehicle theft

• At 3:05 p.m. Saturday, JPD received a report of a vehicle that was stolen in the 800 block of Basin Road. The vehicle was later recovered. Investigation continues.
