The filing for Juneau’s regular municipal election opens this year on July 18.
Filings must be submitted in person at the municipal clerk’s office, according to an announcement from the City and Borough of Juneau.
The filing period runs from July 18 at 8 a.m. to July 28 at 4:30 p.m.
There are three seats up for grabs in the Assembly and three seats for the Board of Education.
The Assembly seats are for District 1, District 2 and an area-wide seat. Candidates must reside in the district they file for. Area-wide candidates can live anywhere in the City and Borough of Juneau.
The term length for the Assembly seats is three years.
Candidates for the Board of Education can live anywhere in the City and Borough of Juneau.
Term length for two of the Board of Education seats is three years, and the third is for an unexpired two-year term.
Candidates cannot run for both the Assembly and Board of Education.
Candidates must submit a declaration of candidacy, a nominating petition and a financial disclosure.
Sept. 7 is the last day to register to vote or update mailing address.
Ballots are mailed to all registered voters on Sept. 19. the last day to vote is Oct. 7.
