Want to get out on the water, but are unsure of how to use the kayak that’s been sitting in the garage? Above &Beyond Alaska and Alaska Boat and Kayak are offering paddling and rescue technique and safety classes for kayakers and paddlers this summer.
Beginner class dates are May 27, June 24 and August 19 and intermediate classes are July 1 and Aug. 26. Classes last from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Auke Lake parking lot and cost $150 per person. Students are provided with all the gear they need, including a kayak.
