Fire and medical
• On Jan. 13, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to nine EMS calls around the city throughout the day. At 8:49 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire alarm on Franklin Street, which had been pulled by accident. At 8:56 a.m., they responded to a fire alarm call at Ralphs, which had been triggered by construction dust. At 2:55 p.m., firefighters responded to an alarm call at the airport, but found no sign of smoke or fire. At 11:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched fr a fuel leak on Glacier Highway.
• On Jan. 14, CCFR responded to eight EMS calls around the city throughout the day and two medical transports. At 10:10 p.m., firefighters were dispatched for a vehicle fire on Northwood and helped extinguish the fire.
• On Jan. 15, CCFR responded to eight EMS calls and two medical transports around the city throughout the day. At 4:47 p.m., firefighters were dispatched for a fire alarm on Glacier Highway, triggered by painting in the building.
• On Jan. 16, CCFR responded to eight EMS calls around the city throughout the day.
• On Jan. 17, CCFR responded to nine EMS calls around the city throughout the day.
• On Jan. 18, CCFR responded to 11 EMS calls and two medical transports around the city throughout the day. At 11:33 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a report of open flames on Duran, which was a prescribed burn. At 4:13 p.m., firefighters responded to a call for the smell of propane on Glacier Highway. At 6:39 p.m., they were dispatched to a fire alarm on Franklin Street, but found so signs of smoke or fire. At 9:17 p.m., firefighters were dispatched for a report of cardboard burning at Mendenhall Mall. On arrival they found a small rubbish fire and extinguished it.
• On Jan. 19, CCFR responded to 10 EMS calls and three medical transports around the city throughout the day. At 9:32 a.m., firefighters were dispatched for a carbon monoxide alarm on Arctic Circle, but did not detect any carbon monoxide in the home. At 10:58 a.m. firefighters were dispatched for an open burn on Manor, and asked the property owner to extinguish the fire. At 1:44 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to investigate a blocked fire door on 12th Street; the Fire Marshal responded and found all fire doors were compliant with the fire code.
