Eaglecrest closes for the season

Eaglecrest Ski Area is closed for the season.

Eaglecrest officials decided to pull the plug since mountain conditions aren’t good and they’re not getting any better as the weather gets warmer, they said in a press release Friday.

“We have made the difficult decision to not open the mountain this weekend and will officially close Eaglecrest for the 2015-2016 Season,” Eaglecrest Director Matt Lillard said in the release.

He added, “I would like to thank the Juneau skiing and riding community and the Eaglecrest staff for a great season. We are looking forward to next winter.”

The ski area’s administrative offices will be open Thursday through Monday until April 10, when they will close for good. They will not be open on Easter Sunday.
