Wharf Block Party and HD webcam installation

Hangar on the Wharf and KXLL: Excellent Radio are hosting a Wharf Block Party on Saturday, June 4 at Historic Merchants Wharf. Proceeds will benefit the Gastineau Humane Society.

The summer kickoff party will have live music, dancing, food and drink specials all under one roof in downtown Juneau.

Doors and specials start at 8 p.m. with music performances beginning shortly after. New York City based artist Smoota will be playing at Alaska Fish & Chips Company (The Flight Deck), followed by Susu and the Prophets in the Hangar Ballroom. The Aurora Projekt has a new retail storefront in Historic Merchants Wharf and will be open late with more music and a beer counter.

The Wharf will be open to the public. However, $10 donation to GHS is required to enter the music venues.

Also in other news, the Hangar on the Wharf has installed an HD webcam thanks to the efforts of Lou Gnandt (PTZtv) and Liz Perry (Travel Juneau). The camera is mounted to the roof of the Hangar and streams an image downtown Juneau’s waterfront view where seaplanes, cruise ships, mountains, sailboats and more can be seen.

The cam be accessed at juneauharborwebcam.com, facebook.com/Juneau.Harbor.Webcam and ptztv.com.
