I would like to publicly commend Juneau citizen Randy Sutak for his quick thinking when he looked up from where he was doing construction work on Randy’s Rib Shack across from the House of Russia, and spotted the blaze in the Channel View Apartments up on Gastineau Avenuelast Sunday. Randy not only immediately called 911, but knowing it would be several minutes until fire and police folk could arrive, he then ran up the stairs between S. Franklin Street and Gastineau Avenue to go through the apartment building banging on doors to get people out. Kudos to his quick actions.
