To the Juneau Empire Editorial Board,

Thank you so much for your, “Thumbs Up to the Downtown Business Community” shout out. Kudos to our local business owners who make downtown such a vibrant and unique place. The Downtown Business Association applauds business owners who take it upon themselves to produce events that make downtown fun and we encourage all downtown businesses to do so.

Thank you to the downtown business owners who have rolled up their sleeves and created events that are now annual occurrences: Halloween Trick or Treat organized by Kindred Post, Style-O-Rama organized by Shoefly, the New Year’s Eve Block Party by The Hangar, FishFest by the Twisted Fish, and more.

The DBA is a great resource to connect, promote, and collaborate with other downtown businesses and we’re happy to help member businesses with events. Do you have a great downtown idea that you saw in another city and want to make happen here? Email downtownjuneau@gmail.com and let’s make it happen together!

Sincerely,

Jill Ramiel, president of the Downtown Business Association Board of Directors, along with other DBA board members
