• Rob Sanderson Jr. has been named to the North Pacific Fishery Management Council’s community engagement committee. The NPFMC governs federal-waters fisheries in the waters adjacent to Alaska. It formed the committee in June “to identify and recommend strategies to provide effective community engagement with rural and Alaska Native communities,” according to the organization.
The committee consists of nine members. Sanderson, the fourth vice president of the Central Council Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, is in his sixth term on the executive council of Tlingit and Haida.
