Juneau Style: Liping

Fall fashion is all about color, fabric and mixing patterns. Although Liping’s outfit is simple, when I saw her flash a smile next to a colorful poster, I was hooked. Her patterned double-breasted wool jacket is worn over a differently patterned high-necked knit sweater. Tall suede boots, low-key make-up and gold earrings complete the casual but professional look. Even on a gray dreary day, you can strike a pose, smile and make a fashion statement.

• Juneau Style is a weekly fashion segment, capturing how Juneauites dress, whether on the streets downtown, on the fishing docks or on the trails. We believe the Juneau look — XtraTufs, Carhartts, rain gear, all of it! — is something to be celebrated.
