JDT to host auditions for all-ages talent show

Juneau Dance Theatre has announced community-wide auditions for its upcoming all-ages talent show, “Juneau’s Got Talent.”

JDT is looking for family friendly acts, 2-3 minutes in length, to compete for cash prizes and an opportunity to perform at JDT’s Spring Series to be held at Thunder Mountain High School, April 29- May 1. Winners will be determined by a panel of celebrity judges and audience votes at the main event on March 12 at the JACC.

The live audition will take place Saturday, Feb. 6, from 3:30-5:30 pm at the JDT studio, 8420 Airport Blvd, second floor. Interested participants are encouraged to register for the audition online at www.juneaudance.org. Video submissions will also be accepted if people are unable to attend the live audition. These applicants should register online and send video to juneaudance@gci.net. There will be a $20 application fee for each registered act.

JDT welcomes dancers, singers, jugglers, stand-up comics, poets, actors – all kinds of talent – of all ages to audition for this new show. All proceeds from “Juneau’s Got Talent” will support JDT programs and outreach efforts in the community.

Community leaders and arts educators who will be donating their time to this event include Sharon Gaiptman, who will MC the event, and a panel of judges that includes: Collette Costa, Nancy DeCherney, Hali Duran, Zachary Hench, Frank Katasse, Michaela Moore, Eric Scott, and Missouri Smyth.
