Cogs & Goggles steampunk improv group to perform with Portland’s B&B
Portland-based improvisors B&B make their first trip to Alaska on Feb. 26, 27 to perform alongside Cogs & Goggles, the Juneau-based steampunk-themed improvisation show.
Cogs & Goggles was recently invited to Hawaii to perform at Improvaganza! The Hawaii Festival of Improvisational Theater in September 2016. The show features five characters, including a sentient airship, whose hijinks and travels around the world and through time are chronicled in a completely spontaneous show.
“The steampunk theme is such a good and original idea in our improv world it’s going to make waves,” said Improvaganza! producer Garrick Paikai.
B&B are a Portland-based duo featuring Betse Green and Bill Cernansky who perform a style of improv called The Revolver where the players switch into each other’s characters seamlessly throughout the show. B&B use their decades of experience as a married couple to explore the complexities of relationships. B&B have recently performed at the New Orleans Comedy Festival and at IF Cincy, the improv festival of Cincinnati.
B&B performs with Cogs & Goggles at the Hangar Ballroom on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26 and 27. Local trio, Seriously Obnoxious opens both nights. Shows are at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.
