Thanks for ‘Inconvenient Sequel’

I want to thank 350Juneau for working with Glacier Cinema to bring the movie “Inconvenient Sequel” to Juneau and for making it available free of charge for students. The movie was a stark reminder of the importance of doing everything we can to protect humanity and the planet now, while we still have a chance to make a difference. Here in Juneau, we have not had drought and forest fires, but we have experienced more rain and more intense rain and are concerned about the future of our forests, oceans and fisheries.

In the film, there was a very short list of U.S. cities that have gone 100 percent renewable electricity. Juneau was left out. As cities struggle to meet the challenge of renewable electricity, Renewable Juneau, a local group, is working to make Juneau the first to be 100 percent renewable-energy-powered transportation and heating city (www.renewablejuneau.org).

If you missed the movie Inconvenient Sequel, I encourage you to go out of your way to see it and its important message that we can and must combat climate change.
