All Alaskans should be thankful to Sen. Lisa Murkowski for her steadfast courage in opposing a bill that would leave thousands of her constituents without health care and for her consistent support of Planned Parenthood. We are fortunate to have a senator who values women’s rights and who voted to protect health care for all Alaskans.
Murkowski demonstrated once again that she is not beholden to party politics and is capable of doing what she knows to be right even when the pressure is on. She demonstrated the true spirit of Alaska, both in her independence and in her caring for her neighbors. We should all call her to thank her for her hard work on our behalf.
