Please help the Dreamers

Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Alaskans have not yet given up on one fight you have championed: protecting Dreamers with permanent legislation so they can continue to live their lives in America, the only home they’ve ever known. We’re counting on you now to continue your leadership in passing legislation before Jan. 19, the last chance we have to get this done.

Today we are closer than ever before to passing legislation to permanently protect Dreamers, but there is not a minute to waste. Nearly 14,000 Dreamers have already lost their work permits since last September, when President Trump eliminated the DACA program. These Dreamers have earned our help. They deserve permanent protection so that they will not be ripped apart from families and lives they’ve built in the United States.

The choice is crystal clear: either Congress will pass bipartisan legislation to protect Dreamers along with increased border security by Jan. 19, or Congress will fail to pass these protections, voting instead for a year-long spending bill that will fund the deportation of these DACA recipients.
