Letter: Wrong place for the whale

In my opinion, our city fathers exercised bad judgment in locating the whale sculpture where they did. It is hidden from view. Even when one knows where it is, one has to go looking for it, and in the process either pass through a state parking lot or a not so aesthetic street that is perpetually under construction. It would not be much worse if they had actually located it under the bridge. Why not put it on that man-made spit that they just constructed at the mouth of Gold Creek? Then it could be seen and admired by a lot of residents every day as they pass by on Egan Drive. And it would be more visible to tourists as well.
