Letter: School consolidation will limit students’ ability to participate in activities

I am a high school student at Thunder Mountain High School, and I understand consolidation had to occur in the Juneau School District. I am disappointed in the outcome which will result in many students needing to make a choice in their after-school activities next year based entirely upon transportation downtown. My friends and I who have parents who work evening jobs are already resigned to the fact that we may not be able to participate in our favorite activities next year. If both high schools could have remained open it would have allowed for more participation in more activities.
