Unrelated investigation leads JPD to Valley property

A burglary investigation led police to a crowded house where they found five people with arrest warrants, according to a Juneau Police Department release Saturday.

At about 10:42 a.m. Saturday, a business owner reported seeing a man and a woman inside his business in the 8300 block of Old Dairy Road. The man and woman drove off in a white U-Haul rental truck, the business owner told police, and he found that $38 cash was stolen and items from the store were piled up near the front door.

Twenty minutes later, JPD officers found the U-Haul at a home in the 8400 block of Nugget Drive in the Mendenhall Valley, the release states. Police applied for and were granted a search warrant, and searched the property. According to the release, police found 34 people on the property, five of whom had warrants out for their arrest.

Brandon Bowhay, 38, was arrested on a $20,000 arrest warrant for violating conditions of his probation with the original charge of first-degree burglary, the release states. David Fuchs, 41, was arrested on two $50 warrants for failing to appear in court for the charges of buying stolen property and interfering with an officer. Fuchs was also charged with violating conditions of release, police say.

Oleksandr Kryvoruchko, 31, was arrested for four $100 warrants for failing to return to prison after being released on the charges of assault, larceny, trespassing and violating conditions of release, the release alleges. Clarissa Paulo, 50, was arrested on a $1,000 warrant for failing to appear in court with the original charge of second- and third-degree drug misconduct, according to the release. Renee Stevens, 37, was arrested on two $500 arrest warrants for first-degree vehicle theft, police wrote in the release.

The investigation into the burglary continues, police say.
