Cooperative Extension closes to move locations

The Juneau Cooperative Extension Service office will close today to move locations.

The office helps interpret and extend research-based knowledge to locals. From family and food health, to insects and invasive species, the office helps locals gain expertise on University of Alaska and worldwide research. It’s a rich source of free publications on gardening, health, home and family development and natural resources.

The office will reopen on Nov. 1 in its new location at 712 W. 12th Street, Suite 1, near the intersection with Glacier Avenue.

Juneau agent Sarah Lewis said the new office will also host trick-or-treaters from 3-7 p.m. on Halloween.

Cooperative Extension was created in 1930 as a department of the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines.
