Eight players to go to state championships.

A Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaat.at Kalé freshman won the girls singles title on the final day of the Region V Tennis Tournament.

Anna Dale defeated teammate Olivia Moore 6-4, 6-1 in the championship match on Sunday at The Alaska Club/JRC, and then teamed up with boys singles champion Kevin Kooistra to win the mixed doubles final 6-0, 6-0 over Moore and William Smoker.

Other tournament winners included Jaymie Collman and Katie Pikul (girls doubles), Will Rehfeldt and Smoker (boys doubles), Kean Buss (development singles) and Max McHenry and Isaac Powers (development doubles).

Eight JDHS players, four girls and four boys, will be selected to compete in the state championships in Anchorage on Oct. 11-12.
