JDHS leads Region V track and field championships after day one

Crimson Bears boys and girls hold slight advantage over Ketchikan.

The Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé track and field team won 10 individual events across the boys’ and girls’ competitions to take a team points advantage over Ketchikan after day one of the Region V Championships Friday at Juneau’s Thunder Mountain Middle School.

The Crimson Bears girls lead Kayhi 46-37 and the Crimson Bears boys lead the Kings 51-39. DII scores will be tallied after Saturday’s events.

Saturday will feature DI and DII finals in the discus, long jump, 1600, and relays and DII finals in the 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, hurdles and relays.
