Romantic chamber music at the state library

Con Brio Chamber Series will hold its “Love in the Last of the Light – a concert of romantic music” concert this weekend.

Performances are Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Aldersgate Church in the Valley and Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the atrium at the Father Andrew P. Kashevaroff Alaska State Library, Archives &Museum. The Saturday performance is in partnership with Friends of the Alaska State Library, Archives &Museum.

The concerts feature pianist Jon Hays, along with tenor Mark Calvert, violinist Lindsay Clark, clarinetist William Todd Hunt, cellist Meghan Johnson and flutist Sally Schlichting. Works to be performed are by Bach, Chopin, Schumann, Rachmaninoff and Debussy, with programs varying slightly for each concert. Admission is pay-as-you-can with donations going to preserve the pianos at both venues.
