Police investigate assault in Lemon Creek area

“JPD does not believe there is any danger to the public at large.”

A man was taken to the hospital for minor injuries after a Thursday afternoon assault, according to police, who said in a news release that the incident is not indicative of a danger to the public.

At about 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Juneau Police Department received a report that a man was assaulted while walking in the Lemon Creek area. Officers arriving at the scene learned that a 29-year-old man, who police did not identify, suffered a minor injury during the event, according to JPD. The injured man was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital and released.

“JPD does not believe there is any danger to the public at large,” the department stated in a news release related to the incident.

The investigation into the event is ongoing.
