Police & Fire for Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016

Fire and medical

• On Friday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to six EMS calls around town throughout the day, three medical transport calls, a fire alarm triggered by dust, and a call to Concrete Way that was canceled en route.

• On Saturday, CCFR responded to eight EMS calls and one medical transport call.

• On Sunday, CCFR responded to 10 EMS calls, a call to Thunder Mountain Road to assist someone who fell, a fire alarm on Front Street triggered by cooking, a vehicle accident on Glacier Highway where a woman was injured and taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for further care and two medical transport calls.

• On Monday, CCFR responded to seven EMS calls.

Shooting wildlife before shooting hours

• On Monday, Alaska Wildlife Troopers received a call about hunters shooting waterfowl prior to the shooting hours near the airport dike trail. AWT contacted Howard A. Graves 55, of Juneau, along with his hunting partner on the airport dike trail and with the help of a witness to the incident, determined Graves fired several shots prior to the shooting time of 8:16 a.m. Graves was issued a citation for unlawful methods of hunting waterfowl.
