Police & fire for Thursday, July 7, 2016

Burglary

• At 1:34 p.m. Monday, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a burglary and theft from a residence in the 200 block of Gastineau Avenue. Investigation continues.

• At 11:54 a.m. Tuesday, JPD received a report of a residential burglary in the 5800 block of Glacier Highway. Investigation continues.

Domestic violence

• At 11:04 p.m. Monday, JPD received a report of a domestic violence assault in the Juneau area. Alcohol was involved. Investigation continues.

• At 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, JPD arrested a 27-year-old woman in the Juneau area for domestic violence assault and for interfering with a report of domestic violence. She was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Alcohol was involved.

Drunken driving

• At 2:03 p.m. Monday, JPD arrested Kevin Willson, 61, for driving under the influence in the 9300 block of Glacier Highway. He was taken to LCCC. Alcohol was involved.

• At 9:15 p.m. Monday, JPD arrested Joshua Jayson Hunnel, 39, for driving under the influence, reckless endangerment and two counts of violating conditions of release on Yandukin Drive. He provided a breath sample of .180 percent. He was taken to LCCC and held without bail. Alcohol was involved.

Fire and medical

• On Tuesday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to eight EMS calls, three transports, two unauthorized burns, one false call and one false alarm.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 1:16 p.m. Monday, JPD investigated a possible motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian on Douglas Highway. Investigation continues.

• At 5:19 p.m. Monday, a 2011 Subaru Legacy sustained approximately $1,500 in damage while parked in the 100 block of Savikko Road.

Shoplifting

• At 7:11 p.m. Monday, JPD received a report that $22 in merchandize was shoplifted from a business in the 1700 block of Ralphs Way. Investigation continues.

• At 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, JPD received a report of shoplifting in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road. Investigation continues.

Traffic stop

• At 12:18 p.m. Monday, JPD cited and released James Franco, 66, for improper use of plates in the 9500 block of Glacier Highway. The plates displayed on his 1985 Toyota were taken as evidence.

Vandalism

• At 10:22 a.m. Tuesday, JPD received a report that unknown persons caused $800 in damage along the fourth floor of the Marine Parking Garage sometime between Friday and Tuesday.

Vehicle rifling

• At 12:03 p.m. Monday, a 37-year-old woman reported her 2004 Dodge pickup was rifled through in the 900 block of 10th Street and her black Nine West purse was taken.

Warrant served

• At 3:24 p.m. Monday, JPD arrested Ricardo Willard, 51, on an outstanding $1,000 Alaska State Trooper warrant in the 200 block of Franklin Street. He was taken to LCCC. Alcohol was involved.
