ANCHORAGE — Two men suspected of thefts and an assault were arrested near Hilltop Ski Area.
Twenty-nine-year-old Austin Carroll and 28-year-old Dante Padilla in custody.
Police Sunday morning took a call of a burglary at a home near the ski area. More reports came in of vandalized cars and shots fired.
Police tried stopping a vehicle heading out of the area and someone inside fired multiple shots at officers.
The vehicle crashed near Hilltop Ski Area. Two men fled on foot.
Police called the ski area and asked that all employees gather in the chalet for their safety.
As the ski area staff gathered, a suspect walked into the chalet. Police arrested him.
A second man was arrested nearby.
