Juneau man indicted on sexual abuse of a minor charges

He was indicted by an Anchorage grand jury on Thursday.

A Juneau man was indicted Thursday on charges of sexual abuse of a minor after he turned himself in Wednesday following an investigation, according to police.

Matthew Aaron Dundore, 28, was indicted by an Anchorage grand jury for two counts of felony sexual abuse of a minor for an incident that occurred in Anchorage on or around Feb. 12, 2021, Juneau Police Department said in a news release.

Dundore and the 12-year-old victim, both Juneau residents, were known to each other but were not related, according to JPD. The incident was brought to JPD on March 5, 2021, and both the victim and Dundore were interviewed. Based on the results of the interviews, JPD sought a warrant from the Anchorage court, which was granted.

Dundore turned himself into the police on March 10, 2021, and was taken into custody, according to JPD.

Both charges are considered unclassified felonies, according to the news release, and bail is set at $50,000.
