Central Council to host job fair at Centennial Hall

The Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska will hold a job fair on Friday from 1-4 p.m. at Centennial Hall. Twelve local companies will be in attendance. Central Council members will also be able to take advantage of breakout sessions for resume writing, social media use and a “fun” session about career choices with visiting job coach Katreena Hayes-Wood.

Grace Hawkins, of Central Council’s 447 E&T department, the job fair is all about “employability skills.”

“That’s our goal to get people self-sufficient through all of our programs. We thought if we hosted this conference that would give them tools that would help them in the future,” Hawkins said.

It’s the first year CCTHITA has held a job fair.
