Juneau’s women’s shelter AWARE (Aiding Women in Abuse & Rape Emergencies) has announced this year’s Women of Distinction honorees.
They are: Andrea Cesar, Sioux Douglas, Kris Sell and Rena Sims.
“AWARE, Inc., is delighted to honor four women whose contributions have enhanced the lives of women and children in Juneau,” a release states.
The four women will be honored at AWARE’s 21st annual Women of Distinction fundraising gala, taking place March 4 at Centennial Hall.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with music by Tom Locher, and a silent auction and no-host bar. The program begins at 7 p.m. with a plated dinner catered by SALT, and seven minute speeches from the honorees about what inspires them. A silent dessert auction will also be held.
