University of Alaska Southeast’s Alumni & Friends will host “Art and Wine 101” as a scholarship fundraiser on Saturday, January 30 from 2-5 p.m. at the Auke Lake Campus, room 105 in the Soboleff Building.
Pua Maunu will be the guest artist and teacher. Participants will be introduced to the concepts of color theory, composition and form and come away with an 8×8 practice canvas and a larger 12×16 canvas painting.
“Whatever people create will be beautiful. You don’t have to draw perfectly,” Maunu said.
The cost is $90 for non-members, and $75 for members. Catering is by Abby’s Kitchen and wine is complimentary. All the proceeds from the evening will go directly to scholarships for students.
