TMHS April student recognitions

Thunder Mountain High School named the following students to be recognized for the month of April.

Senior Magen Boegli was nominated by Yearbook Teacher Janna Lelchuk.

“Magen is in Yearbook Class, and she is the most hard working student who would do anything,” Lelchuk said. “There were situations in our Yearbook production, when Magen literally rescued the book. She deserves special recognition! Thank you Magen for all your work!”

Freshmen Sasha Pico was nominated by English teacher Corrine Marks.

“Sasha consistently and enthusiastically pushes herself academically to improve her writing skills,” Marks said. “She is consistently kind to fellow students and encourages others to do their best. Her passion for music shows in her enthusiasm. She went to Honor Fest, All State and played in the orchestra for Shrek (the Musical).”

Sophomore Mikayla May was nominated by science teacher Adrianna Northcutt.

“This young lady always works hard in my class and turns in work that exceeds expectations,” Northcutt said. “She is always willing to help her peers and has shown a great deal of growth when advocating for herself. I have really enjoyed having her as a student and look forward to watching her find her success in the future.

Sophomore Siena Hanna was nominated by Spanish teacher Holly Ireno.

“Siena challenges herself and her classmates to achieve academic excellence,” Ireno said. “She is supportive of her peers, both in and outside of class. Her inquisitive nature is a welcome addition to the classroom atmosphere.”

Senior Lutini Tupou was also nominated by Ireno.

“Lutini’s positive attitude shines brightly in class,” Ireno said. “As he overcomes obstacles, he works with others to bring them over the obstacles as well. He strives for excellence and is a wonderful representative of his culture for others to learn from.”

Freshman Leilani Eshnaur was nominated by math teacher Jay Watts.

“Leilani has been an excellent Algebra 1 student throughout the school year,” Watts said. “She has not only been an A student, but has also worked to understand the Algebra concepts at a high level. She shows up prepared, has a positive attitude and helps others.”

Senior Ashley Cunningham was nominated by American Government teacher and student government advisor Mara Sheakley-Early.

“Ashley is our ASB president and she has done a great job this year at organizing and leading our students,” Sheakley-Early said. “Ashley is responsible and motivated; she is a self starter and is reliable. I can always count on Ashley to remember important events and projects and follow through. From Freshmen First to Spring Student Government Elections, Ashley has been a key player in revising and improving events and in organizing students all year long and I appreciate her so much for this! I will miss her next year, but know she will be an amazing asset to whatever institution she ends up studying at!”

Senior Erik Bach was also nominated by Lelchuk.

“Erik Bach, senior, has been nominated for his incredible effort in learning Russian,” said Lelchuk, who also teaches Russian. “Erik took two years of Russian and exceeded all expectations. He is a two time winner of the National Russian Essay contest. Erik is an inspiration to everyone in class! Good job Erik and best wishes for your future!”
