Southeast Alaska Master Gardeners Association annual meeting

The Southeast Alaska Master Gardeners Association is planning a number of events to kick off the New Year. The annual general membership meeting will take place on Jan. 30 from 2-4 p.m. at the Mendenhall Valley Public Library.

Meeting highlights include a group discussion topic, a seed exchange and a finger food potluck. Join local master gardeners in sharing tips, ideas and experiences as they delve into garden journaling, and share techniques on how to document the what, where and when of gardening. Participants are welcome to bring seeds to share for the seed exchange (envelopes will be provided) and snacks to share for the potluck.

Elections will be held for board members to fill three vacancies. Nominations of master gardeners to serve on the board may be emailed to seamastg@gmail.com.

The new website seak-mastergardners.org will provide current information on events and opportunities, such as the gardening class taught by Juneau Cooperative Extension Service occurring on Feb. 9 and running till the beginning of May (40 hours of volunteer time is required with the course).
