Flutist Sally Schlichting and pianist Mary Watson will present a concert of flute and piano music in a benefit for Juneau Alaska Music Matters this weekend at Northern Light United Church. Schlichting and Watson will perform works by Peteris Vasks, Samuel Barber, Lita Grier, John Rutter and Paquito d’Rivera, and will be joined by soprano Sara Radke Brown for songs by John Corigliano.
Performances will be Saturday, Nov. 14, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m., both at Northern Light United Church.
Donations at the door will go directly to JAMM’s nationally recognized El Sistema-based string program for young musicians.
