MATHCOUNTS thanks sponsors

MATHCOUNTS is a nationwide program designed to improve math skills among U.S. students. Sponsors target sixth, seventh and eighth grade students, who are at a crucial stage in developing and sustaining math interest and ability.

MATHCOUNTS is a volunteer non-profit organization. Our national sponsors cover expenses at the national competition, but all State and Chapter competition expenses are funded locally. The costs of promoting academic excellence are considerable and none of this is possible without the generous support of our local sponsors, who we would like to give a huge thanks to: Alaska Energy Engineering, LLC.; Begenyi Engineering, LLC.; Carson Dorn, Inc.; Dowl HKM; Haight & Associates, Inc.; Jensen Yorba Lott, Inc.; MRV Architects; Morris Engineering Group, LLC.; Murray & Associates, P.C.; NorthWind Architects, LLC; PND Engineering Inc.; R & M Engineering, Inc. and Wilson Engineering Inc.

Leadership is provided by members of the Alaska Engineering Education Foundation and the Alaska Society of Professional Engineers. This year’s volunteers included: Engineers – Mark Pusich, P.E.; Nimmy Philips; Brian Smith & Stephen Bishop – Architect Robert Minch, AIA; Juneau Douglas High School volunteers Steve Potter and students Soren Thompson, Wenshi Fraser and Laurie Balstad.

Thank you to everyone’s contributions.

Douglas H. Murray,

SE Region Chapter MATHCOUNTS
