John and Terry Laskey of Juneau are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on July 3 with a reception and contra dance. John Laskey and Terry Payne were married June 25, 1966, in Denver, Colorado, and were childhood sweethearts.
Terry said, “Our life together has brought joy and love to us.”
The Laskeys lived in Colorado and Idaho while John attended college and dental school, and in Idaho while he worked for the Indian Health Service. He has a private dental practice in Juneau. Terry retired from 25 years with the State of Alaska, and has run her Little Gardener landscaping business for the past 16 years. Together they have enjoyed scuba diving, gardening, fishing, mushroom hunting and folk and contra dancing.
The Laskeys will host a reception starting at 6:30 p.m, followed by a contra dance at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, at St. Anne’s Parish Hall. The couple’s friends are invited.
