Juneau Makerspace, located at 1759 Anka St. in the Lemon Creek area, will hold its grand opening on March 12 from 1-4 p.m. to commemorate the community having a new creative work space.
Juneau Makerspace is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization that seeks to provide the community of Juneau with shop space, tools and equipment for any type of creative project. Members will have access to a wide range of tools for woodworking, metal working, ceramics, electronics, printmaking, 3D printing and more.
Juneau Makerspace has partnered with several local organizations in Juneau including Juneau Economic Development Council, 4H/Cooperative Extension, Juneau Public Library, Juneau Arts and Humanities Council and University of Alaska Southeast.
Family memberships will cost $50 a month. Student memberships will be $25 a month. In addition to access to the space, members will get discounts on events and classes offered by the Makerspace.
