Juneau-Gastineau thanks for help with Rotary Spring Bulbs Fundraiser

Thank you to all the Juneau gardeners and Rotary supporters for making our annual Juneau-Gastineau Rotary Bulbs Fundraiser a success with your purchase of spring bulbs, power planting and your donations!

Our thanks to Alaska Marine Lines for the transportation and delivery of the bulbs. Thank you to Super Bear IGA for the bags for distributing the bulbs, and to AEL&P for the space for the bulb hub and distribution center. Flower bulb sales are the main fundraiser each year for the Juneau-Gastineau Rotary Club, which is one of the three Rotary clubs in Juneau. Some of the projects we support include: International Youth Exchange – students coming to Juneau, and Juneau students going abroad; Auke Bay School playground equipment; sponsoring local students to attend Rotary Youth Leadership conference; supporting the Juneau After-School Coalition; monthly dinners at the Glory Hole; Day-at-the-Lake for families at Twin Lakes; Pioneer Home holiday party and gifts; and Wheelchair donations abroad.

Your support helps make these programs possible! Thank you also to our media friends at KINY/KJNO and KTOO!

Now that the bulbs are in the ground, we look forward to great displays soon in Juneau gardens and at our public planting sites at the roundabout at Auke Bay, roundabout on Douglas side of the bridge and at Juneau-Douglas High School, at bear statue, in memory of Rotarian Dale Staley.

Wishing you all beautiful blooms this Spring!
