Beginning Monday, Feb. 26, the Rev. Steven F. McGuigan will offer a five-week series entitled “Exploring the Gospel of St. Mark.” The series will seek to explore the text of the first of the canonical gospels; to provide a brief survey of how the gospels were composed as well as the sources available to St. Mark; and, finally, to discuss major themes and Christological titles found in the gospel.

Classes will be held Monday evenings from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Library of St. Ann Hall, 430 5th St.

The series are lectures, with opportunity for questions and discussion. The course is free and is open to all people high-school aged or older. Participants are asked to bring a copy of the Bible (not just New Testament).

The Rev. Steven F. McGuigan is Rector of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Juneau. Prior to his conversion to Orthodoxy, as a Roman Catholic priest he was a member of the faculty of le Grand Seminaire de Montreal, Canada where he served as Clément Morin Distinguished Professor of Theology.
