DCUMC gives thanks for large donation

Recently, the Douglas Community United Methodist Church received $5,000 for the Gastineau Elementary School and Floyd Dryden Middle School Breakfast Programs. These funds will be used to provide breakfast to students each school day morning in those two schools, ensuring that the students will be better prepared to concentrate on their school studies. These funds were collected with the support of the broader Juneau community and included donations from: Alaska Native Sisterhood Camp 70, Alaska Native Brotherhood Camp 70, Juneau Tlingit and Haida Central Council, Glacier Pediatrics, Rep. Cathy Munoz (R-Juneau), Simpson, Tillinghast, Sorenson & Sheehan, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Laborers Union Local 942, Hecla Greens Creek Mining Company, Coeur Alaska – Kensington Mine, Sealaska Corporation, Tlingit and Haida Regional Housing Authority, Sons of Norway Svalbard Lodge #3, Alaska Electric Light & Power, Northrim Bank, Freda Westman and Lisa Greenough.

Thank you so very much for caring about the children who are the future of our community.
